Ormai da decenni la comunità scientifica, anche avvalendosi di modelli matematici sempre più accurati, ha descritto come il clima del Pianeta stia cambiando in modo preoccupante e come le responsabilità di questi cambiamenti sia delle attività umane, a cominciare dall’uso massiccio dei combustibili fossili.
Oggi siamo di fronte a fenomeni climatici sempre più estremi, frequenti e devastanti. Molte specie stanno tentando di reagire al cambiamento: alcuni uccelli migratori stanno cambiando periodi di arrivo e di partenza anno dopo anno, le fioriture stanno anticipando, le specie montane si spingono, finché possono, in alta quota. Ma tutto questo ha un prezzo.
Ormai nessuno ha più dubbi sul fatto che siano in atto importanti mutazioni nel clima del Pianeta e sulla nostra responsabilità.
La comunità scientifica è ormai unanime nell’indicare le attività umane quali responsabili della crisi climatica, in particolare a causa dell’aumento dei gas serra immessi nell’atmosfera. La concentrazione di gas serra nell’atmosfera ha raggiunto livelli record: l’anidride carbonica è aumentata di quasi il 150% rispetto ai livelli preindustriali, il metano del 262% e il protossido di azoto del 123% rispetto ai livelli preindustriali
La concentrazione della CO2 in atmosfera viene misurata dal Mauna Loa Center del NOAA americano: nel maggio 2022 la media era stata di 420,99 parti per milione, una concentrazione che non si registra da almeno 650 mila anni, ma probabilmente da molto prima.
Tutto ciò provoca l’innalzamento globale della temperatura che a sua volta rende sempre più frequenti fenomeni di inondazioni, siccità, dissesto idrogeologico, diffusione di malattie, crisi dei sistemi agricoli, crisi idrica e estinzione di specie animali e vegetali. GUARDALA IN FACCIA LA REALTA’ riguarda i giorni 29 e 30 ottobre 2018, quando il vento toccò i 190 Km/h e le onde raggiunsero i 10 mt in una tempesta che devastò letteralmente tutto il litorale ligure di cui forza memoria d’uomo non ricorda, facendoci piombare in un incubo e sbattendoci in faccia la realtà del cambiamento climatico in corso.

For decades now, the scientific community, also making use of increasingly accurate mathematical models, has described how the planet’s climate is changing in a worrying way and how human activities are responsible for these changes, starting with the massive use of fossil fuels.
Today we are faced with increasingly extreme, frequent and devastating climate phenomena. Many species are trying to react to the change: some migratory birds are changing arrival and departure periods year after year, the blooms are coming forward, mountain species are pushing themselves to high altitudes as long as they can. But all this has a price.
Now no one has any doubts about the fact that important changes are taking place in the planet’s climate and about our responsibility.
The scientific community is now unanimous in indicating human activities as responsible for the climate crisis, in particular due to the increase in greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. The concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has reached record levels: carbon dioxide has increased by almost 150% compared to pre-industrial levels, methane by 262% and nitrous oxide by 123% compared to pre-industrial levels
